The next big update for Arc Raiders is called Shrouded Sky. It will introduce a new type of enemy, called an Arc threat, and also update the game’s maps.
Arc Raiders launched successfully late last year and has remained popular into 2026. The well-received shooter continues to attract thousands of daily players.
Embark Studios is planning significant updates throughout the first four months of the year, beginning with the ‘Headwinds’ update in January to maintain current progress.
Next up on the roadmap is the Shrouded Sky update, so here’s everything we know about it.
When does Shrouded Sky release?
We don’t have a firm release date for the Shrouded Sky update yet, but it’s expected to launch in February. Since Arc Raiders typically releases updates on Tuesdays, February 24th is the most probable date, though this isn’t official.

Map changes
This update will introduce the first major map changes the game has seen so far. While details aren’t confirmed, we anticipate some maps will be adjusted with new or modified points of interest.
A new map condition will be added to the game, similar to existing modifiers like Electromagnetic Storms and Lush Blooms, which change the weather or available loot.
New Arc threat
Another major update is the introduction of a new “Arc threat,” but details about what that actually involves are still forthcoming.
The next update could bring entirely new enemy types, beyond the Shredders currently found in Stella Montis. Or, we might see different versions of the existing Arc enemies, equipped with new weapons and abilities – the developers have hinted they want to make familiar enemies more challenging and interesting.
Virgil Watkins, the design lead, has hinted that Shredders might eventually spread beyond Stella Montis and invade other maps, which is another thing to look forward to.
What else to expect
On top of everything mentioned above, the update will also bring the following:
- New Project
- New Raider Deck
- Second Expedition Window
- Balancing changes
- Bug fixes
