Hideki Sato developed Sega’s most iconic consoles
Hideki Sato is the designer many fondly remember from classic Sega consoles. He oversaw the design of every Sega system from the SG-1000 in 1983 all the way through the Dreamcast in 1999. Though the Dreamcast wasn’t initially successful, it’s now a beloved console known for its many classic games.
Hideki Sato was a key figure in Sega’s history, starting as an engineering leader for all their consoles beginning in 1983. He later became president of Sega after Isao Okawa passed away in 2001. Sato held this position for two years before leaving Sega altogether in 2008.
