iPhone Air passes JerryRigEverything’s durability test but he broke it anyway

I just watched JerryRigEverything’s durability test on the new iPhone, and it seems pretty tough! He did his usual scratch, burn, and bend tests, and the phone held up really well. It’s good to see it can take a beating!

Before the video was released, people wondered if the iPhone Air’s thin design would cause it to bend, just like some experienced with the iPhone 6 in 2014. A lot of online users were anticipating the YouTuber’s test to see how it would hold up.

On September 19, 2025, he released his newest video, showcasing the latest iPhone going through the usual durability tests his channel is known for. The screen and body held up well to scratching, and the phone didn’t bend easily when he first tried.

JerryRigEverything broke the phone on purpose

Once the durability test was finished, JerryRigEverything tried to intentionally break the iPhone Air in his workshop. He used specialized tools to apply increasing pressure and discovered the device started to bend and eventually broke at 216 pounds of force.

After finally breaking the iPhone Air, he joked, ‘Unless you have incredibly strong glutes, your pants pockets would likely tear long before this phone gets damaged.’

Apple recently unveiled the iPhone Air, its slimmest flagship phone to date, as part of its latest product release.

The device survived JerryRigEverything’s durability test, but some people still have concerns. Marques Brownlee, known as MKBHD, liked the device’s build quality but is still worried about how long the battery will last, given its incredibly thin design.
