Fox and Hulu Release First Teaser Trailer for The Faithful: Women of the Bible

A new trailer is out for The Faithful: Women of the Bible, a series that tells stories from the Book of Genesis through the eyes of five important women.

Fox Entertainment is making the movie. After each episode broadcasts on Fox, it will become available to stream on Hulu the very next day. Minnie Driver plays Sarah, a key character in the story.

The first trailer for The Faithful introduces Driver as Sarah and hints at the emotional difficulties surrounding her desire to have a child. The preview shows Sarah dealing with conflict in her marriage with Abraham and a complicated connection with her servant, Hagar.

“The Faithful: Women of the Bible” will be a three-part event airing on Fox, starting March 22, 2026. Each installment will be two hours long, and the series will conclude on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.

The Five Women Featured

The series, The Faithful, tells the stories of five influential women from the Book of Genesis, exploring how their lives and decisions continue to resonate today. Over three episodes, it focuses on three generations of these women – Sarah and Hagar, Rebekah, and the sisters Leah and Rachel – and their lasting impact.

I’m really excited about the cast! Besides Sarah, they’ve got Hagar, her servant, and her son is actually super important to the stories of Abraham and his family. We’ll also see Rebekah and how she gets involved with her twin sons’ futures, and the sisters Leah and Rachel – their relationship gets really complicated as they grow up and start competing with each other. It sounds like there’s a lot of drama and history packed into this series!

Jeffrey Donovan plays Abraham, the husband of Sarah and a key character in the biblical story of Genesis. The cast also features Tom Mison, Tom Payne, Ben Robson, James Purefoy, Taylor Napier, and Will Stevens.

Behind the Scenes

Let me tell you, the folks behind this series really know what they’re doing. You’ve got Carol Mendelsohn, a seasoned pro from the original CSI, as an executive producer, which immediately signals a commitment to solid storytelling. And René Echevarria, who’s helmed shows like Carnival Row and The 4400, is also on board as an executive producer and showrunner – that’s a huge win. Rounding out the executive production team is Julie Weitz. With this level of experience, I went in expecting a polished and engaging show, and I wasn’t disappointed.

The series was filmed in Rome and Matera, Italy, both cities selected to accurately represent the historical period of the biblical stories.

The series will retell these classic stories by focusing on the characters’ relationships and emotional journeys, exploring universal themes like love, marriage, family, temptation, and faith.

This first look is part of Fox’s plan to promote The Faithful before it premieres in March. Expect more trailers and marketing materials as the show gets closer to its release date.

As faith-based entertainment becomes more popular, companies like Angel Studios are leading the way with high-quality biblical stories. Productions like the series The Chosen, which portrays the life of Jesus, and children’s films such as David and King of Kings, are gaining wider recognition. This genre, once often considered low-budget or poorly made, is now attracting attention for its improved production values. Even major distributors like Amazon Prime are starting to produce biblical content, as seen with their series House of David.

“The Faithful: Women of the Bible” is a new series that reimagines well-known and complex biblical women for today’s viewers. Watch for it on Fox and Hulu this spring to see their stories come to life.
