Jack Doherty, a content creator, is no longer allowed to attend PGA Tour events because he intentionally caused a disturbance during a tournament.
At the Waste Management Phoenix Open, a man named Doherty filmed himself paying a spectator $100 to interrupt a golfer’s swing by yelling an offensive word. The spectator agreed and shouted an insult during the swing, which led to security immediately stepping in.
The video shows Doherty telling someone what to shout, then confirming a payment, and celebrating afterwards. Tournament staff quickly found both people involved, removed them from the golf course, and banned them from returning.

Doherty trespassed and banned from PGA events
Even though Doherty first claimed he didn’t yell the offensive phrase himself, the PGA Tour stated that his involvement in causing the disturbance – specifically, encouraging it and paying those responsible – was reason enough to disqualify him.
During the conversation, an official told Doherty he was banned from the rest of the tournament and all future PGA Tour events.
According to video footage, an official warned the man that he would be arrested if he returned to any PGA Tour events. When the man asked if the ban was forever, the official said it would last “for the foreseeable future” and could be re-evaluated later.
After the incident, Doherty seemed unconcerned with the consequences, telling cameras he wasn’t bothered by the ban and even called the whole thing dull.
The PGA Tour hasn’t made an official announcement, but their rules already cover intentionally disturbing players during a round.
