Ghana’s president says IShowSpeed’s popular trip to Africa brought the country more international attention than it could have gotten otherwise.
I was so excited to see Speed start 2026 with his huge trip to Africa! He livestreamed the whole thing, traveling through 20 different countries in less than a month – it was incredible to watch. He said afterward that it totally changed his perspective on life and really inspired him, and honestly, I can see why. It seemed like a really powerful experience for him.
The tour wasn’t just important to Speed personally; it also helped the countries he visited, especially Ghana.
President of Ghana praises IShowSpeed for boosting advertising

According to President John Dramani Mahama, the influencer IShowSpeed generated significant positive publicity for Ghana. Speaking at the Ghana–Zambia Business Forum, Mahama stated that after IShowSpeed’s visit, online searches for Ghana and shea butter reportedly reached 20 million.

Mahama explained that their shea butter product is popular in the beauty and skincare industry due to its many benefits for the skin.
Mahama described how Speed received a shea butter massage from around ten girls at the shea butter museum, and the event quickly gained attention online.
Mahama said that after [Speed]’s mention of shea butter, online searches for it exploded, with people wanting to know what it is and how to use it. He added that there was a huge surge in interest in Ghana itself, with reports of 20 million searches about the country – people wanting to know its location and learn more about it. Essentially, [Speed] generated more publicity for Ghana than any advertising campaign could have.

Mahama noted the visit clearly had a big impact on the streamer. He shared that even his own children were thrilled to meet Speed, mentioning this while speaking at the launch of the SheaPark Resource Hub Project.
My kids were really excited about this young American creator, IShowSpeed, who visited Ghana,” he explained. “I have a feeling he’ll return sometime.”
Speed has suggested his travels in Africa aren’t finished, calling the recent trip “season one” and implying he plans to return for a “season two” later on.
