TheBurntPeanut hits back at Twitch viewbotting claims from “losers”

TheBurntPeanut has responded to accusations of using viewbots to boost his Twitch numbers, even playfully referring to himself as an “industry plant.”

Viewbotting, or artificially inflating viewer numbers, has been a recurring issue in live streaming. Initially, it was mostly done by troublemakers trying to get streamers suspended from platforms. However, some streamers have also intentionally used viewbots to make their channels appear more popular.

Over the past year, Twitch has been actively fighting against fake viewers (often called ‘bots’) by improving its ability to identify genuine engagement.

After quickly becoming the most-watched streamer—surpassing popular names like Caedrel, Asmongold, Hasanabi, and Caseoh—some people have accused him of using fake viewers to inflate his numbers on Twitch.

It’s strange how he suddenly appeared, gained popularity with a mainstream audience, and quickly reached over 100,000 viewers, but his chatroom remains unusually quiet and inactive – even quieter than those of streamers with much larger audiences.

Someone is accusing this streamer of using view bots. They find it suspicious that this person quickly gained popularity, reached over 100,000 viewers, but has a very inactive and quiet chatroom – suggesting the viewers aren’t genuine.

TheBurntPeanut hits back at viewbotting claims

During his stream on February 5th, TheBurntPeanut described using fake viewers as a sign of desperation. He explained that having a high viewer count but low engagement – like few likes or subscribers – suggests someone is artificially inflating their numbers. He specifically called it ‘viewbotting’ when viewers don’t match likes or subscribers, and ‘likebotting’ when likes are also unusually high.

No matter how you look at it, this whole discussion is just people making excuses. There’s no way to actually prove anyone is artificially inflating their views, and honestly, it’s a pointless argument. It’s not surprising your post is getting a lot of attention – it’s just attracting a group of people who are all feeling the same way and trying to deal with it.

Seriously, is there anything more frustrating? I don’t like to brag, but we’ve tried everything to connect with players – Brazilian servers, European servers, even something called ‘Oceanic’ which I don’t understand! It feels like everyone knows us, so how can anyone accuse us of using fake viewers?

TheBurntPeanut addressed the claims that he was using bots to inflate his viewer numbers. He dismissed the accusations as a way for others to justify their own failures, stating there’s no way to prove it and that the discussion is simply fueled by negativity and excuses. He believes the post gained attention because it resonated with others who are also trying to cope with their own shortcomings.

The VTuber who recently won VTuber of the Year playfully responded to a popular online post, jokingly telling the author to call him an “industry plant” instead of someone who buys views.

Industry Plant* not viewbotter

Peanut’s recent popularity is largely thanks to the success of ARC Raiders. He’s created a lot of fun, shareable moments on Twitch, especially while playing with well-known streamers, so it’s no surprise he’s doing so well right now.
