The Strangers fans just ran for their lives to watch Chapter 3 early

Horror enthusiasts recently ran a thrilling 3k race with a spooky theme for the opportunity to see an advance screening of The Strangers – Chapter 3.

Movie studios are putting audiences through their paces for preview opportunities at the moment.

To promote the new movie The Long Walk, Lionsgate created a unique screening event for Stephen King fans. Attendees could watch the 108-minute film, but only if they continuously walked on a treadmill at over 3 miles per hour throughout the entire movie.

That studio is back with another immersive experience, but this time, instead of a walking tour, participants will be running a frightening three kilometers as part of their ‘Strangers’ challenge.

The Strangers – Chapter 3 fans given chance to live the horror

The Strangers 3 race took place in Los Angeles and covered three kilometres, with each kilometre symbolizing one of the Strangers films.

The nighttime race promised runners a diverse course with fields, woods, and hills. To add to the challenge, actors dressed as ‘Strangers’ would jump out and try to scare participants, and there would also be obstacles to test their stamina.

One runner, known as Khailanonymous, shared on Instagram about a terrifying 3k race held to promote the new horror movie, The Strangers 3. The race was designed as a real-life escape room where the stakes were incredibly high – participants either finished and won, or faced real consequences, and unfortunately, some people didn’t make it.

The course took place in a secluded, run-down area with dirt roads, shadowy woods, and abandoned carousels. The people running the course, dressed as scary characters, would appear unexpectedly, keeping me on edge the entire time. It was a really intense, high-energy experience.

It’s a typical run… with a terrifying twist: you’re being hunted by The Strangers. See Chapter 3 of The Strangers movie in theaters this Friday! Tickets are available now.

I don’t run for enjoyment, but I was literally running for my life! To celebrate the movie The Strangers, I participated in a 3K ‘Survival Run,’ and this ‘Final Girl’ was determined to cross the finish line – or was she?

I just discovered my running motivation: being chased through the woods by three people in masks wielding an axe! It seems the old saying ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ really holds true – or should I say, ‘Stranger’ does!

Those who survived the competition got a special advance screening of the movie. Everyone else can see “The Strangers – Chapter 3” when it’s released in theaters tomorrow, February 6th, 2026.
