Nashville police arrested two men for attacking someone and stealing their shoes. One of the attackers was disguised in a gorilla costume during the incident.
Two men have been arrested for a bizarre robbery that happened around 4 AM on Sunday, September 21st. It’s one of the most unusual crimes reported this year.
Xavier Rhodes, 18, and Sherrod Robinson, 22, are accused of robbing a man named Eli Jordan Walker in downtown Nashville around 4:45 AM. Police say the two worked together during the mugging.
Walker reported that Rhodes, dressed in a gorilla suit, suddenly attacked him and put him in a headlock. Meanwhile, Robinson, wearing a Hawaiian shirt, continued to kick and punch Walker while he was unable to defend himself.
He said the two attackers stole his shoes and left him injured, confused, and without footwear. According to the police report, he sustained cuts, bruises, and a bloody nose during the unexpected assault.

Rhodes and Robinson ran from the scene still wearing their strange clothes. People saw them on the Shelby Street pedestrian bridge, and the police quickly caught up with them – they were still dressed in a gorilla suit and a brightly colored, flashy shirt.
Okay, so the police questioned him, and apparently Robinson said he didn’t steal Walker’s shoes. But he *did* admit they got into a bit of a fight, a scuffle or something like that.
According to local reports, Rhodes has been accused of robbery and has been released after posting a $14,000 bond. Robinson faces the same robbery charge but is still being held in jail on a $15,000 bond.
As of now, details are limited, but this isn’t the only unusual crime that’s caught people’s attention lately.
A man in California stole a truck earlier this year and led police on a long chase before crashing into a paint store. Surprisingly, he walked away from the crash without any apparent injuries, but police caught him soon after.
In June, a man from Queens, age 50, was arrested for a series of thefts at high-end jewelry stores nationwide. He used skillful tricks to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewels.
