The next big Marvel Studios movie, Avengers: Doomsday, is looking to be a very ambitious project, and its storyline might not please everyone. A reliable source says some of the choices being made creatively could really upset fans.
Marvel insider claims Avengers: Doomsday could make people angry
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, the upcoming Avengers movies – Doomsday and Secret Wars – are heading in a direction he’s unsure about. He shared on social media (formerly Twitter) that while some plans sound fantastic, certain creative choices don’t make sense to him and he predicts they’ll upset many fans.
It’s normal for fans to argue about big movies, but this warning might be serious because the next film has a very complex and important story. Rumors suggest major developments like Doctor Doom having a family, Captain America possibly causing problems across different universes, and even some characters dying. According to a source close to the production, directors Joe and Anthony Russo and writer Stephen McFeely are taking risks with the story that won’t appeal to everyone.
Recent comments from actor Ian McKellen have sparked excitement and speculation among fans. During a conversation on the podcast ‘Jake’s Takes,’ McKellen jokingly mentioned accidentally destroying New Jersey, hinting at a significant event in the upcoming film. This accidental reveal has fueled anticipation and discussion online.
This instantly brings to mind the controversial Ultimatum comic book arc, in which a devastated Magneto flips Earth’s magnetic poles with Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, resulting in the flooding of Manhattan and the deaths of many heroes. The story is well-known for being dark and shocking, making it a risky choice to adapt for other media.
The Russo Brothers’ new film, Avengers: Doomsday, will be released on December 18th, and Avengers: Secret Wars is planned for release in 2027.
