Man, Terraria’s mounts have always been awesome. I mean, seriously, who doesn’t love bouncing around on a slime, cruising in a golf cart, or even flying around in a UFO? It’s just a really fun way to get around the world, and I’ve always had a blast finding and using all the different ones.
We’re excited to announce new mounts are now available with Patch 1.4.5 and our awesome Palworld crossover! They’re also super helpful when you’re starting out and tackling early-game bosses. It’s a win-win!
So, how do you actually get a Chillet? Today, I’m going to walk you through the fastest way to obtain this mount and explain how to use it effectively in combat!
Useful Items to Help You Search

You can get the new Pal Chillet by opening a Huge Dragon Egg, just like hatching Pals in Palworld. Surprisingly, this egg isn’t found by defeating a rare creature – it’s actually a type of ore you need to mine.
Because of this, we can benefit from 2 very useful items:
- Metal Detector
- Spelunker Potion
You can get a metal detector by defeating a Nymph, which appears randomly while exploring underground caves. Finding one might take some time, but it’s not required – it just makes searching much faster.
Also, the Spelunker Potion will make the Egg glow, allowing you to easily mine towards it even when you’re underground in the dark.
If possible, get a fast pickaxe or items that help you mine quicker. The Digtoise Pal is especially useful for this, particularly if you’re planning to build a large Hellevator.
Where to Find a Huge Dragon Egg
As we discussed earlier, you’ll only find the egg in underground and cavern areas, so that’s the best place to begin looking.
Okay, so finding these eggs is kinda tricky. You can dig straight down – it’s risky, but keep an eye on the info on the right side of the screen as you fall. Or, the easier way is to hunt around for caves. I’ve had luck under big trees, especially in those scary, dark areas, and even near those glowing mushroom places. Honestly, the faster you scan big, open spaces, the quicker you’ll spot the egg. It’s all about covering ground quickly!

After you locate the Huge Dragon Egg, simply use your pickaxe to mine it – it will then be added to your inventory. When you open the egg, there’s a 50% chance you’ll get a Blue Chillet, and a 50% chance you’ll get a Chillet Ignis.
Using Chillet in Battle
Okay, so I finally got Chillet, and it’s awesome! You equip it like a mount, and it’s seriously fast. The best part? It has a dash attack! I didn’t even expect that so early – usually you need to beat the game and get the shield to unlock that. This dash is a lifesaver when fighting bosses, and because of it, I can free up one of my accessory slots since I don’t need a shield anymore. It’s a total game-changer!
Plus, when you’re riding Chillet, your attacks will be 10% stronger. Take advantage of the brief invincibility you get during your dash to move through enemies unharmed. This is especially useful against fast-moving bosses like the Queen Bee.
