Now that Disney has chosen a new CEO to replace Bob Iger, people are starting to discuss the future of Kevin Feige and his role leading Marvel.
What’s Kevin Feige’s status at Marvel?
Disney announced in March that Josh D’Amaro will take over from Bob Iger, and Dana Walden will become the company’s President and CEO. A recent Deadline report about these changes also mentioned Kevin Feige.
Deadline reports that when Bob Chapek is replaced by D’Amaro, there will be some challenges related to Disney’s film projects. One key area is Marvel, overseen by Kevin Feige. Although there’s often speculation about Feige potentially leaving Marvel Studios, the report suggests that isn’t expected to happen in the near future.
According to Deadline, Kevin Feige is still fully committed to the upcoming Avengers movie, titled ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ and leading the introduction of the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadline reports that Feige isn’t planning to step down anytime soon, suggesting Marvel Studios will remain stable for the foreseeable future.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has several exciting projects on the horizon. First up is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, coming to theaters July 31, 2026. Then, the Avengers will face “Doomsday” on December 18, 2026, followed by “Secret Wars” a year later on December 17, 2027. Marvel is also developing a third Black Panther movie, a sequel to Shang-Chi, and a new X-Men film directed by Jake Schreier.
