Chris Hemsworth knows exactly who should be the next James Bond

Ever since Daniel Craig stopped playing James Bond, Chris Hemsworth’s name has come up as a possible replacement. While he’s not certain he’d take the job himself, he’s shared who he thinks should be the next 007.

Chris Hemsworth is known for playing the popular character Thor, appearing in several Thor movies and alongside other heroes in the Avengers films.

He’s lent his voice to Optimus Prime, had a short role as Captain Kirk’s father, and appeared as both a Man in Black and a villain in the Mad Max series.

He’s also starring in a new thriller, Crime 101, alongside Halle Berry, Mark Ruffalo, and Barry Keoghan. The movie is scheduled for release on February 13, 2026. We recently spoke with Hemsworth and asked him about the possibility of him playing James Bond.

Chris Hemsworth thinks Jacob Elordi should be the next Bond

While promoting the movie Crime 101, TopMob’s Jacqui Faiman had the actors read and react to comments left on the film’s trailer. One commenter wrote, “This just confirms what I’ve thought all along: Chris Hemsworth would be perfect as James Bond.”

In the video, Chris laughs at the message around the 20-second mark and then jokes, “I’m too old – I’m 42!”

However, his co-stars disagree, with Halle Berry complimenting him, “You don’t look 42, you’re gorgeous!” Mark Ruffalo chimed in, pointing out that age isn’t a factor: “Roger Moore was around 70 when he did his last film!”

When directly asked if he’d be interested in the role, Hemsworth paused for about ten seconds before answering. He said he was curious, but thought other actors might be a better fit, specifically suggesting Jacob Elordi, whom he praised for his natural confidence and style.

Jacob Elordi is currently one of the most popular actors. He initially gained recognition from his role in The Kissing Booth films, and later became known for portraying the complex character Nate Jacobs in Euphoria.

Jacob Elordi has recently earned an Academy Award nomination for playing The Creature in a new version of Frankenstein, following roles as Elvis in Priscilla and Felix in Saltburn. He’s set to appear next as Heathcliff in a film adaptation of Wuthering Heights, starring alongside Margot Robbie.

For several years, Jacob Elordi has been a popular choice to become the next James Bond, possessing the right looks, height, and acting ability. Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth seems to be supporting a fellow Australian actor, as both he and Elordi are from Australia.

If Jacob Elordi gets the role, he wouldn’t be the first Australian to play James Bond. George Lazenby played 007 in the 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, but his performance received poor reviews and wasn’t well-received by fans, so he only played the role once.

Both Chris Hemsworth’s ‘Crime 101’ and Jacob Elordi’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ will be released on February 13th. You can find more celebrity interviews from TopMob on their ScreenTime YouTube channel.
