WhistlinDiesel says he has “target” on him after second arrest for tax evasion

YouTube personality WhistlinDiesel says his increasing popularity has put a target on his back, explaining that he was recently arrested for a second time due to a continuing tax issue in Tennessee.

So, I just got back to the US, and things got pretty crazy at the Nashville airport. This YouTuber said he was actually detained when he landed. Apparently, his lawyers had already been told he could just turn himself in later, but the authorities went ahead and arrested him anyway. It was all covered in a long video he posted, and it’s pretty wild.

He claims the Tennessee Department of Revenue has been relentlessly pursuing him regarding disagreements over vehicle license plates and sales tax, specifically for cars registered in Montana. He says this issue has worsened after a long period of legal disputes.

Towards the end of the video, the creator explained what he thinks is causing his increasing legal issues.

He explained that while he doesn’t want to seem like he’s complaining, being famous online makes you a target for negativity. He clarified he wasn’t boasting, just stating that increased visibility attracts more criticism.

He said he’d been hearing from friends about potential legal issues or problems with this, and he’s now starting to see those concerns firsthand.

WhistlinDiesel previously explained that he was arrested again for a different vehicle he bought in Tennessee with Montana license plates. His lawyers had actually warned him before he came back to the US that another arrest warrant might be issued.

Instead of being allowed to leave, he says authorities held him at the airport and took him to the Rutherford County Jail. He was able to post a $25,000 bond there, bringing his total bail payments to around $45,000.

WhistlinDiesel has spoken out about how he was treated while being held, saying he was sick and wasn’t given basic necessities like blankets or towels. He also argues that the money spent on investigating and arresting him was much more than the amount of unpaid taxes involved.

He also stated that a judge had already allowed him to discuss the case publicly, as long as it didn’t involve any sealed or confidential information, after a court hearing about a request to limit what he could say.

WhistlinDiesel said his lawyers are still working on the case, with several court dates scheduled. He promised to keep his viewers informed about any new developments.
