After a long wait, Regé-Jean Page, a popular actor from the first season of Netflix’s Bridgerton, is returning to the streaming service. Page, who played the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset, quickly became a fan favorite for his relationship with Daphne Bridgerton. However, he decided not to continue with the show after season one.
Some fans were surprised by this news, as they’d hoped to see Page reprise his role in Bridgerton again. While he did return in the 2022 Netflix film The Gray Man, it wasn’t the extended experience with the actor that Bridgerton fans were wishing for.
Good news for fans! Page, who starred in the first season of Bridgerton, is returning to Netflix. While it’s not another season of Bridgerton, Page will be appearing in a new, steamy thriller series, according to Deadline.

The upcoming streaming series, titled Hancock Park, centers on a compelling newcomer (Page) who disrupts the lives of people living in the wealthy Los Angeles neighborhood of the same name. Page will star in the series, similar to his role in the first season of Bridgerton, and will also be an executive producer.
Hancock Park is a new project created by writer Matthew Barry (known for his work on Industry), Drew Comins (from Yellowjackets), and the production company Fifth Season. While details haven’t been announced yet, Netflix is reportedly working to get it produced and released quickly.
Regé-Jean Page, who played Simon Basset in Bridgerton, won’t be returning for future seasons. The fourth season of the popular romance series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in two parts, on January 29th and February 26th, 2026.
Will Regé-Jean Page Ever Return to Bridgerton?

Regé-Jean Page’s new film, Hancock Park, might please some Netflix viewers eager to see more of him, but for many fans, it won’t compare to a possible return to the show that made him famous, Bridgerton.
I’m really excited about this new series! It seems like it’s going to have that same steamy, romantic energy as Bridgerton, which I loved. The biggest difference, though, is that it’s not set in the past like Bridgerton was – it’s a more modern story.
As a big fan of Bridgerton, I’ve been wondering why we haven’t seen Regé-Jean Page reprise his role as Simon Basset in the later seasons. We’ve seen other characters carry over from one season to the next, but Simon hasn’t, and it’s a bit puzzling!
In an April 2021 interview with Variety, Elliot Page explained that he always envisioned his character’s story lasting only one season, which is why he hasn’t been back on the show.
The plan is for a single season with a clear start, middle, and finish – about a year’s worth of work. I liked that idea because it felt like a limited series, allowing me to contribute my part and then let the story continue with the rest of the ‘Bridgerton’ characters.
He doesn’t have any bad feelings about being on Bridgerton; he simply always saw it as a single season experience for himself. Therefore, as Bridgerton moves forward with Season 4 (you can find more details about the upcoming season here), fans won’t be seeing him return.
