There’s disappointing news for fans of Marvel’s upcoming movies, Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. According to a recent report, we likely won’t see trailers for either film during the Super Bowl this year, even though other big movies are expected to be promoted during the event.
Avengers: Doomsday or Spider-Man 4 won’t show any new trailers at Super Bowl LX
Both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have decided not to advertise during this year’s Super Bowl. As a result, fans won’t see new trailers for the upcoming movies Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This is the first time in several years that Marvel has chosen to sit out the Super Bowl advertising slot (according to Deadline).
Okay, so as a huge Marvel fan, I was pretty shocked to hear they’re not doing a Super Bowl ad this year. Seriously, they always have a presence during the game, dropping new trailers or clips from whatever’s coming up next. It’s become a tradition, so it definitely feels weird that they’re sitting this one out.
It’s not surprising Sony might skip a Super Bowl ad, as they’ve often chosen to release movie trailers at different times. However, they could still release the Spider-Man 4 trailer online around the same time, or sometime afterward.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of both movies, and excitement is building thanks to rumors, fan theories, and information that’s been leaked online. “Avengers: Doomsday” will bring Robert Downey Jr. back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this time as the villain Doctor Doom. He’ll be going up against a huge team of heroes including the Avengers, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. Chris Evans will also reprise his role as Steve Rogers, marking his return seven years after appearing in the 2019 film “Avengers: Endgame.”
The next Spider-Man movie, currently titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will bring Tom Holland back as the hero. The story will feature appearances by Jon Bernthal as the Punisher and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. The film will also explore how Spider-Man balances his everyday life with being a superhero, after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home led to everyone forgetting he’s Peter Parker – a result of Doctor Strange’s spell.
The new Spider-Man movie, “Brand New Day,” will debut on July 31, 2026. Five months later, on December 18, 2026, “Avengers: Doomsday” will be released. Before that, “Endgame” will return to theaters on September 25, 2026.
Destin Daniel Cretton directed ‘Brand New Day,’ written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. ‘Doomsday’ was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a script by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. The Russo brothers also produced the film alongside Marvel Studios through their company, AGBO.
