New on Steam. Most important horror game of the year and the great hope of fantasy turn-based titles

Welcome to our series covering the biggest upcoming games on Steam! Summer is over, and we’re looking ahead to a wave of exciting new releases.

Release of the week: Silent Hill f (September 25, 2025)

This week’s most anticipated game is likely to be Silent Hill f, a new addition to the incredibly popular survival horror franchise. This installment marks a first for the series, taking place in Japan. Players will experience the story as a high school student struggling to survive a town filled with supernatural creatures in the 1960s. The game’s story is penned by Ryukishi07, known for creating the beloved visual novel series, When They Cry.

The review embargo lifted this morning, and it looks like the developers really delivered with *Silent Hill f*. Currently, the game has an average score of 84% on OpenCritic. Our editor was particularly impressed, awarding it a 9.5 out of 10.
