Spider-Man: Brand New Day filming paused after Tom Holland suffers injury

Filming for the new Spider-Man movie, “Brand New Day,” started in Scotland last month and has been getting a lot of attention. Now, there’s news that Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker, was injured while on set.

Okay, so out of all the Marvel movies coming up, I’m seriously hyped for the next Spider-Man one. After all the crazy multiverse stuff we’ve been dealing with, it sounds like ‘Brand New Day’ is going to bring things back down to earth and give us a more classic, street-level Spidey adventure – exactly what I’ve been wanting!

In addition, Jon Bernthal is returning as the Punisher for his first appearance in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, and Mark Ruffalo will also be reprising his role as the Hulk. Tom Holland has also been actively looking online to understand what fans are hoping to see, hinting that this new film could be truly exceptional.

Filming started in Glasgow in early August, and excitement was growing with new pictures and videos being released. However, production has now been paused following an incident on Friday, September 19th.

The event happened at Leavesden Studios near Watford, England. While Tom Holland wasn’t seriously hurt, production on the film has been temporarily stopped.

According to reports, Tom Holland attended a charity event in London with Zendaya and his father, Dominic Holland, over the weekend. He had to leave early because he wasn’t feeling well, and his father indicated he would be taking a break from filming for some time.

People involved with the Marvel movie have shared with Deadline that the actor is taking a short break as a safety measure, but should be back on set within a few days.

Reports indicate a woman, believed to be a stunt performer, was also hospitalized after the incident, though sources confirm only Tom Holland sustained injuries. Filming schedules are being revised and a meeting to discuss these changes is planned for today, September 22nd.

The Basingstoke Gazette reports that several areas of town will be closed to the public on September 23rd, 25th, 29th, and October 6th, 7th, and 8th to accommodate filming, which is thought to be for the movie *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*. It’s currently unconfirmed if Tom Holland will be filming during these dates.

Does Tom Holland do his own stunts?

Though Tom Holland has a professional stunt crew, he prefers doing many of his own stunts. His gymnastics training allows him to handle flips, run along walls, and perform fight scenes without a stunt double.

For example, in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland actually jumped from a replica of the Washington Monument and did the famous web-swinging scene with Zendaya. However, for really risky stunts, Marvel usually uses stunt doubles to keep everyone safe.

Tom Holland often does his own stunts, and while fans admire this dedication, a recent incident has raised concerns. One fan on Reddit expressed hope for his quick recovery, acknowledging Holland’s pride in performing his own stunts.

Someone else commented that they believe actors shouldn’t perform their own stunts, and that it’s best left to professional stunt performers.

Honestly, as a fan, it’s worrying to hear about the injury. Someone pointed out that we don’t even know *what* he was trying to do! It might not have been anything super complicated, just a simple stunt that went wrong. Apparently, he’s gotten hurt on a lot of his sets before, and a lot of the really big, dangerous stuff we see is actually done by his stunt doubles.

One commenter explained their conflicted feelings about actors performing their own stunts. They said it’s distracting when directors try to mask an actor’s lack of action skills with quick cuts and shaky camera work, pulling you out of the moment.

It’s definitely a problem when filming stops because a key actor is hurt. Ideally, there’s a way to handle these situations without completely halting production.
