Honestly, ever since it premiered in 2022, this show has been a massive hit on Prime Video. And as a huge fan, I’m really excited for Season 4 – though I’ve heard there’s been some interesting stuff happening behind the scenes while they’ve been working on it.
Paramount and Skydance recently merged, and this affects the future of the show Reacher. TV production is being divided between CBS Studios and a new division called Paramount TV Studios (PTVS), and production of Reacher will now move from CBS Studios to PTVS.
Though originally co-produced by Skydance TV and CBS Studios, these three shows will now be handled by PTVS following the recent acquisition on August 7th. PTVS is merging Skydance Television’s projects with those from Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. While PTVS will mainly create streaming series for Paramount+, it will also work on shows for other streaming services.
Both Reacher, which is coming back for a fourth season, and Cross will continue to be available on Prime Video. Viewers likely won’t see any changes because of the recent merger – Season 4 of Reacher is already in production, and Neagley has already finished filming.
Shows like Reacher, Neagley, and Cross have switched studios, and CBS Studios is no longer handling production. Now, PTVS will be the sole studio, adding these shows to its lineup which already includes Foundation (for Apple TV+), Dexter: Resurrection, Emily in Paris, and all the shows within the Taylor Sheridan universe on Paramount+.
CBS Studios will keep its primary focus on the CBS television network and continue developing content for Paramount+. Current projects include new installments of the popular drama NCIS and the daytime soap opera Beyond the Gates.
Several TV shows are facing significant changes. The new Little House on the Prairie series for Netflix, originally developed by PTVS, will continue to be produced at CBS Studios, along with other CBS Studios streaming projects like the Star Trek shows on Paramount+. The Clueless sequel series, currently in development for Peacock, will also remain with CBS Studios.
A Reacher Spinoff Is in the Works
I’m really excited about the upcoming Neagley spinoff! It’s going to follow Maria Sten, who played Frances Neagley in the original show, and explore her story further. While we don’t have a firm release date yet, the buzz is it should be hitting screens in 2026. The cast looks great too – alongside Sten, we’ll be seeing Greyston Hold, Adeline Rudolph, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman. And even better, Kaley Ritchson is going to make a guest appearance, which is fantastic news!
The new series follows Neagley as she uses her skills from working with Jack Reacher and the 110th Special Investigators Unit to investigate a serious threat, putting her in considerable danger.
What We Know About Reacher Season 4
Season 3 of Reacher finished filming in March and has been officially renewed for a fourth season. Production on Season 4 began in June 2025 and is currently underway.
Alan Ritchson will return to star in the series, and several new actors are joining the cast. Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette (known from Barry), Sydelle Noel (GLOW), Agnez Mo (Pernikahan), Amisha Hoth (Anggun from Levitating), and Kevin Corrigan (Law & Order: Organized Crime) will all be regular cast members. Kevin Weisman (Suits LA), Marc Blucas (My Life with the Walter Boys), and Kathleen Robertson (The Expanse) will appear in recurring roles.
Published in 2009, Gone Tomorrow is part of the Jack Reacher series. The books follow Reacher as he travels from place to place, encountering new people along the way. In this story, he ends up in New York City and gets caught up in a large-scale political and terrorist plot. While the book is set in NYC, Season 4 of the TV adaptation was filmed in Philadelphia, so it’s unknown if the show will reflect that change in location or if Philadelphia will stand in for New York City.
Alan Ritchson guarantees Season 4 will be the most action-packed season so far. He described filming as incredibly intense, saying the team shot eleven fight scenes in the first month – a much faster pace than ever before. Reacher will constantly be facing new enemies, making the season non-stop, exciting, and unlike anything viewers have seen. Ritchson joked that by the end of each day, the set was covered in a mix of stage blood and genuine bruises.
Reacher Season 4 is expected to return to Prime Video in 2026.
