Inti Creates has released an updated version of their card-battling RPG, Card-en-Ciel, for the Nintendo Switch 2. They also announced that a new Expansion Pass will be available starting February 19th.
The Card-en-Ciel Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is now available with enhanced features like 4K resolution or a smooth 120 frames per second, and it also supports mouse controls. It costs $29.99, and existing Nintendo Switch owners can upgrade for just $4.99 with the upgrade pack. The Card-en-Ciel Expansion Pass adds content from the games Blaster Master Zero and Gal Guardians Servants of the Dark. Plus, a free update is available now on all platforms.
Card-en-Ciel is now released on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. You can find James’ review of the game here.

Inti Creates announced that on February 19th, an Expansion Pass will be released for their deckbuilding roguelite JRPG, Card-en-Ciel. Along with this news, a free content update is available now, and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Card-en-Ciel has just been released.
The Expansion Pass adds the worlds of “Gal Guardians Servants of the Dark” and “Blaster Master Zero” to Card-en-Ciel. These packs introduce new stories, dungeons, and cards to the game. “Gal Guardians Servants of the Dark” includes characters from last year’s 2D action game, while “Blaster Master Zero Series” adds content from all three games in the retro reboot series.
Each downloadable content pack will include two new dungeons – one featuring a unique story and voice acting – along with several new cards, random events, and a new Muse. You’ll unlock this content after making some progress in the main game.
On February 19th, the “Gal Guardians Servants of the Dark” DLC will be available. Then, on March 12th, players can get the “Blaster Master Zero” series DLC. An Expansion Pass, costing $9.99, launches on February 19th and gives you instant access to both DLC packs as soon as they release, along with an exclusive Neon card as a bonus for buying it.
The two packs will also be available individually for $4.99 each.
New Free Content Update Available Today
- A new content update for Card-en-Ciel is releasing today to all platforms, bringing new content, challenges, and improvements.
- “Real Challenge Battles” will task players with completing a pre-set battle in a limited number of moves, rewarding new Parallel Cards to those who can complete them.
- Network Battles have been improved, making sure the all-important initial Muse selection remains balanced, as well as giving players a chance to re-roll their choices.
- A new Extra Dungeon will also provide experts players with a fun challenge, upping the rate that Parallel Cards appear.
