Despite previously saying they weren’t planning to revisit the original game, Warhorse Studios appears to be releasing a current-generation version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance soon. A listing on the PlayStation Store indicates the game has been “Updated for PlayStation 5,” as noted by Gematsu.
The game now supports 4K resolution, features sharper textures, and runs at a smoother frame rate. It’s unknown whether players with the original PS4 version will get this update, but it adds weight to speculation about a possible remastered version. Warhorse Studios hasn’t confirmed anything, only hinting at “something new” coming after the last downloadable content for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Following director Daniel Vávra’s support for Larian Studios amidst the controversy surrounding their use of GenAI in Divinity, the studio hasn’t shared any new information about what’s next. There’s speculation that a PlayStation 5 update could be revealed during a rumored State of Play event in February, potentially releasing alongside versions for other platforms.
