‘Dead of Winter’ (2025)

Despite flying under the radar for many, Dead of Winter surprised audiences and critics with a compelling story. The film centers on Barb, played by Emma Thompson, a widow traveling to scatter her husband’s ashes. Along the way, she encounters Leah, a young woman held captive by a dangerous couple. Stranded in the remote wilderness without cell service, Barb must use her resourcefulness to rescue Leah from a perilous situation, all while battling the unforgiving winter conditions.

‘Portebello’ (Miniseries)

Inspired by the true story of Italian TV personality Enzo Tortora (played by Fabrizio Gifuni), Potebello shows us a man at the peak of his career, hosting a hugely popular show. But his life is turned upside down when he’s falsely accused of links to the mafia. The series follows his very public fall from grace and his fight to prove his innocence.

This well-made miniseries is based on a notable story from Italian media history. It’s HBO’s first original series produced in Italy and has already received positive reviews after screenings at major festivals, including the Venice International Film Festival.
