As a TV critic, I was thrilled to hear some good news for fans of FBI: Most Wanted! A year after CBS unexpectedly cancelled the show, it’s getting a second chance. Look, cancellations happen – networks constantly evaluate what’s working and what isn’t. Sometimes it makes sense based on viewership, but other times, like with FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, it just feels…wrong. These weren’t ratings failures, and many viewers were left confused by the decision. It’s great to see Most Wanted getting another shot!
The FBI series, created by Dick Wolf, was a successful addition to CBS’s Tuesday lineup – it was his only procedural drama franchise outside of NBC. Though the spin-offs didn’t achieve the same long-term popularity as the original FBI, both were well-liked. FBI: Most Wanted especially stood out, often delivering particularly strong episodes, sometimes even surpassing the quality of the main FBI show. Therefore, its cancellation was understandably upsetting.
Fugitive Task Force’s Nina Goes Undercover In FBI Season 8, Episode 11
In 2026, CBS has announced a surprising continuation of the Fugitive Task Force’s story, picking up a year after the end of FBI: Most Wanted. The original show concluded with Remy’s retirement and Barnes naturally stepping up as leader, meaning the team continued operating even after the series finale – they just weren’t shown on screen. Now, CBS is bringing the Task Force back into the FBI universe with an upcoming guest appearance by Nina.
CBS has announced that the upcoming episode of FBI, season 8 episode 11, titled “Confetti,” will feature Nina going undercover in a mission that hits some snags. This prompts the New York field office to assist. The rest of the Fugitive Task Force won’t be involved in this particular episode, which focuses on Nina’s storyline and includes a guest appearance by Shantel VanSanten. Nina’s involvement suggests that Barnes is proving to be an effective leader.
What Nina & Scola’s Marriage Means For Their Future In FBI
Nina previously made it clear she wasn’t interested in getting married, feeling that she and Scola already had a strong relationship without needing a formal commitment. Her potential change of heart will be a key topic when she appears in FBI season 8, episode 11. It’s likely that something during the past year – perhaps related to her work with the Fugitive Task Force or a recent undercover assignment – has led her to reconsider marriage.
Now that Nina and Scola are officially married, it’s highly unlikely Nina will return to her old job at the New York City field office – the team she was with before joining the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force. They previously agreed that they wouldn’t work on the same team to ensure their child always has a parent available, and their marriage makes that commitment even stronger.
