is officially headed to the most important anime programming block for North American audiences.
The popular anime Tokyo Revengers is coming to Toonami in just under two weeks, according to a recent post from the ToonamiNews Twitter account. It’s scheduled to premiere on February 7th, right after Blue Lock finishes airing.
Toonami is a well-respected name in the anime world, and it’s almost celebrating 30 years since it began. It first appeared on Cartoon Network in 1997 as a daily program featuring popular action shows like ThunderCats, Voltron, and The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest. In 1999, Toonami was refreshed with a new host, the memorable T.O.M., and quickly became the leading weekly anime block in North America.

Ken Wakui’s manga, Tokyo Revengers, first appeared in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2017 and rapidly gained a dedicated following. In 2021, Liden Films created an anime series based on the manga, with scripts by Yasuyuki Mutō, Yoriko Tomita, and Seiko Takagi.
Takemichi is a 26-year-old struggling with his job when tragedy strikes: his ex-girlfriend and her brother are murdered, and he is attacked the very next day. But instead of dying, he unexpectedly finds himself sent back in time 12 years, launching him into a thrilling and unpredictable adventure.
Throughout the series, Takemichi repeatedly travels back in time, trying to improve the present and save the people he cares about. He and his friends get caught up in intense gang conflicts, complicated relationships, and incredibly emotional situations.
Both the original manga and the Tokyo Revengers anime have received a lot of positive attention from critics and viewers. Currently, it has a rating of 7.7 out of 10 on IMDb, based on over 32,000 reviews.
Ever since the third season of Tokyo Revengers ended in 2023, fans have been hoping for more episodes. In June 2025, they finally got a preview of the upcoming season, which is set to launch later this year. The announcement included a trailer hinting at the intense drama to come when Tokyo Revengers returns.
As a huge Tokyo Revengers fan, I was so excited to hear more about the upcoming game, Tokyo Revengers UNLIMITED! It’s going to let us play through the main story from the anime, which is awesome. The developers, f4samurai, have really pulled out all the stops – the animation is by LIDEN FILMS, the music is by Tsutsumi Hiroaki, and they’ve got an amazing voice cast! Plus, the game features a brand new story penned by Takagi Seiko, who actually worked on the anime’s script, and promises a look at what the characters are like when they’re just hanging out in their everyday lives.
Tokyo Revengers is slated to premiere on Toonami on February 7.
