Dynasty Warriors: Origins was first released last year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam, and we named it our second-best game for design and immersion. Okay, so I’m super excited – Koei Tecmo and Omega Force just dropped Dynasty Warriors: Origins on the Nintendo Switch! I’m jumping in right now to experience the Three Kingdoms like never before. And that’s not all – they also released a huge DLC called Visions of Four Heroes, which adds a ton of new story content. It’s available on Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, so there are plenty of ways to play. They even put out a new trailer to get us hyped!
Dynasty Warriors: Origins, launched in January 2025, puts players in the role of a rising hero on a quest to bring peace to the chaotic era of the Three Kingdoms. This new version of the classic story features the most soldiers ever seen on screen in a Dynasty Warriors game, letting players experience intense 1 vs. 1,000 battles like never before.
The new ‘Visions of Four Heroes’ expansion lets players explore different sides of iconic characters like Zhang Jiao, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao, and Lu Bu through alternate ‘What If’ storylines. You’ll also meet new allies, including a mysterious officer, who will enrich the game’s narrative. To shake up combat, two new weapons – the Bow and Rope Dart – have been added, each offering unique ways to control the battlefield. Plus, the new ‘Training Ground’ feature lets you practice and improve your skills before tackling any challenges, ensuring you get the most out of the exciting world of Three Kingdoms.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. The ‘Visions of Four Heroes’ expansion and a version for the Nintendo Switch 2 are also out now. The game supports both Japanese and English voiceovers, and includes text in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
