For years, people have speculated about tension between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, David and Victoria, especially after he married actress Nicola Peltz in 2022.

Reports said Nicola didn’t want to wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria, so she chose a Valentino Couture gown instead. This choice caused a lot of attention from the tabloids.

Brooklyn Beckham publicly stated that his parents attempted to take over his 2022 wedding. He specifically claimed his mother, Victoria Beckham, danced inappropriately with him and disrupted his first dance as a married man with his wife.

He said he’d never been so uncomfortable or embarrassed. They wanted to renew their vows to make happy new wedding memories, instead of feeling anxious and ashamed.

He also stated that his mother interfered with Nicola’s original wedding dress plans, stopping the design from moving forward at the last minute. He claimed she did this even though Nicola was very enthusiastic about wearing it, which meant Nicola had to quickly find a replacement dress.

What’s particularly troubling is Brooklyn’s allegation that his parents tried to pay him to give up his rights to the Beckham name before his wedding.

He explained they insisted he sign the contract before his wedding, as that would start the agreement’s terms. His delay in signing impacted when everyone got paid, and he feels they haven’t treated him with the same respect since.

Brooklyn claimed his parents prioritized their public image, or the “Beckham brand,” over their relationship with him. He stated they reportedly shared damaging stories about him with the press and wouldn’t attend David’s 50th birthday celebration unless his wife, Nicola, wasn’t there.
