WWE fans are furious with artificial intelligence after a major error during a live broadcast showed Dominik Mysterio holding a championship title from rival wrestling promotion, AEW.
With artificial intelligence playing a bigger role in media, it’s more crucial than ever to verify information and correct any errors.
It appears a final quality check wasn’t done when AAA first appeared on Fox in Latin America, as artificial intelligence was used to create some promotional material.
A recent video featuring Dominik Mysterio showed him with both the WWE Intercontinental and AAA Mega Championship titles through animation. However, one particular frame is getting a lot of attention online.
Dirty Dom is All Elite thanks to AI botch
The video appears to have been accidentally altered by AI, resulting in a shot of Dom wearing a belt with the AEW logo on it.
The error occurred while Mysterio was talking about becoming the new champion. It’s unclear whether a technical issue caused the mistake, or if the logo was meant to say ‘new’ at that moment instead of ‘AEW’.

It’s a bit ironic, considering AEW is WWE’s main competitor. Last year, WWE directly competed with AEW by holding its own events on the same days as AEW’s biggest shows, a tactic that many fans and wrestlers criticized.
WWE isn’t alone in facing criticism for using artificial intelligence. Lionsgate, the studio behind popular films like John Wick and The Hunger Games, also received backlash when a leader mentioned wanting to use AI to alter existing movies to be suitable for children or to create animated versions.
AI isn’t flawless and often makes errors. A recent example occurred in October when police were called to a student because an AI security system incorrectly identified his bag of Doritos as a weapon.
A strangely worded AI-generated police report caused some confusion when it stated an officer had apparently turned into a frog.
