Shoreline Games, the publisher, and Metaphor Games, the developer, have revealed that the story-driven RPG, Celestial Return, is scheduled to release on PC (via Steam) in Spring 2026.

In the cyberpunk-noir RPG Celestial Return, staying alive isn’t the main goal! Developed by the experienced storytellers at Metaphor Games and published by Shoreline Games, this dice-based narrative game is coming to PC via Steam in spring 2026.
In Celestial Return, you’ll experience a visually striking sci-fi adventure filled with a compelling story. You play as Detective Howard, a hardened investigator with everything to lose, navigating the crumbling, neon-lit city of Netherveil. The city is plagued by the undead and hidden dangers, and you’re tasked with solving a series of mysterious suicides that hint at both cosmic terrors and powerful corporate wrongdoing. Your weapons? Dice – used for everything from combat to persuasion. Your allies? A cynical, talking rose and a handful of stolen dice, along with your trusty badge.

To build on the world of Celestial Return, Metaphor Games has launched a series of Webtoon comics that explore the darker side of Netherveil City. These comics are designed to complement the video game and will continue releasing before the game’s launch. The story connects directly to the game’s narrative, creating a seamless experience between the comic and the game, and ultimately leading right into the beginning of the game itself.
Metaphor Games, a team of talented writers from the TTRPG publisher Metis Creative, had a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign for their game, Celestial Return. They not only reached their funding goal but exceeded it by over 200%, and Kickstarter recognized the project with a “Projects We Love” award. Now, by teaming up with Shoreline Games, a publishing studio known for bringing immersive, story-driven games to players worldwide, Metaphor Games is set to expand Celestial Return‘s reach far beyond its initial Kickstarter success.
