The first episode of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,’ titled ‘The Hedge Knight,’ is now available on HBO Max. While the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel is getting good reviews, a trailer shown after the episode has been criticized for revealing too much of the plot.
This new TV show differs from series like Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon because it doesn’t feature dragons or magic. It’s a smaller-scale story set in the world of Westeros, based on one of George R.R. Martin’s ‘Dunk and Egg’ novellas.
The series begins with Duncan (Peter Claffey), a knight who travels the land without a home or master, agreeing to take on Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), an orphaned boy, as his apprentice. The two of them journey towards Ashford Meadow, hoping to compete in an upcoming tournament.
If you’re familiar with the story ‘The Hedge Knight’, you probably have an idea of where the series is going. However, some viewers were upset with the trailer shown after the first episode.
