Logan Paul reveals bidding war with Drake over record-breaking Bob Ross painting

Logan Paul shared that he and Drake competed against each other in an auction for a rare, highly valuable Bob Ross painting.

Bob Ross is a hugely popular artist, especially online. Many people fondly remember watching him paint cheerful scenes, like his famous ‘happy trees,’ when they were growing up. His popularity has seen a resurgence thanks to platforms like Twitch, which hosted a round-the-clock Bob Ross marathon, and he’s even made appearances in video games like Fortnite.

Several of Bob Ross’ paintings have been sold at auction over time, including one sold through Goldin in late 2024.

The painting, originally not created for the TV series, fetched a little over $93,000 at auction. The identity of the buyer was kept under wraps until May 2025, when Drake, the Canadian rapper, announced he had won the bid. Logan Paul was the underbidder.

A genuine Bob Ross painting – not one created during his television show – recently sold for $93,940 at Goldin Auctions, setting a new record for the highest price paid for a Ross painting at public auction.

Drake beat Logan to Bob Ross painting

On the January 13th episode of the imPAULSIVE podcast, Logan Paul interviewed Ken Goldin and learned that Goldin was aware they were both trying to buy the same painting.

So Goldin was talking about his big buyers, and he mentioned Drake. Apparently, Drake actually outbid me on a Bob Ross painting! I was feeling a little tipsy and decided to go for it, but someone really wanted it. It went way over what anyone expected – it was the most expensive Bob Ross ever sold, and I lost!

I was really surprised and wondered who could be making these offers. I even thought someone might be secretly pitting Drake and Logan against each other in a bidding war.

Goldin said she was feeling terrible and wished she could reach out to someone, admitting Drake had ultimately come out on top.

They also talked about Logan selling that incredibly rare Pikachu Illustrator card through Goldin. It’s wild to think he originally bought it for $5.3 million! As a fan, I was definitely curious about that whole deal.

Logan shared that he’d decided to sell the item with Goldin after overspending on his wedding.
