Building on the world of Legendary’s ‘Monsterverse’ films – like those featuring King Kong and Godzilla – ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ is a story that unfolds over several decades.
The main plot of Season 1 followed two siblings as they uncovered their father’s ties to the mysterious Monarch organization. Their investigation led them to army officer Lee Shaw – portrayed by Wyatt Russell in the 1950s – and to his father, Kurt Russell, in scenes set fifty years later.

The story begins with a surfer riding a wave and reaching the beach, but his session is cut short when monsters emerge from beneath the sand and attack him.
The trailer then rapidly shows Titans attacking crowded cities and the remote Skull Island. It concludes with a massive sea creature capsizing a boat by wrapping around it and dragging it beneath the waves.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 plot
The second season of Legacy of Monsters continues the story with the future of Monarch – and the entire world – at stake. The season will uncover long-hidden secrets, bringing both allies and enemies together on Skull Island, home of Kong. We’ll also discover a new, secluded village and witness the emergence of a legendary Titan from the ocean.
Past events continue to impact the present, complicating relationships between family, friends, and enemies, all while a major, potentially catastrophic event looms.
We don’t have many details yet, but Variety reports that Amber Midthunder will join the cast as Isabel, a smart and influential businesswoman. Her character is expected to appear frequently throughout Season 2.
