Nintendo’s Switch Game Voucher Program Will End Permanently This Month

Nintendo is ending its Switch Game Voucher program, which let Nintendo Switch Online members buy two first-party Switch games for a discounted price of $100. You can still use any vouchers you’ve already purchased, but Nintendo will stop selling new ones after January 30, 2026.

Since Nintendo rarely offers discounts on its own Switch games, the game voucher program was a way for players to save money. For $100, you could buy two vouchers and get a $10 discount on each game, as long as the games normally cost $60. Although there were a couple of restrictions – like a one-year expiration date and the need for a Nintendo Switch Online membership – it was a consistent way to get a deal on first-party titles.

There’s still time to get a discount! Game vouchers are available for purchase until January 30th and will be good for a full year from the date you buy them. You can easily find the expiration date of any vouchers you already have by checking the Nintendo Switch Online section of your Nintendo account.

With the release of the new Switch 2 console, Nintendo has stopped offering its voucher program. These vouchers can’t be used to buy games exclusive to the Switch 2, and this change came as Nintendo launched its most expensive game yet, Mario Kart World, at $80. Nintendo hasn’t announced any plans for a new discount program for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so if you want to use your existing vouchers, you need to redeem them before the end of January.
