The upcoming film will be directed by Michael Gracey, the director of The Greatest Showman. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who wrote Do Revenge and Thor: Love and Thunder, penned the screenplay. Kristin Burr, known for producing Cruella and Freakier Friday, is producing the movie, with Lucy Kitada as executive producer.
The first Tangled movie earned $591 million worldwide, featuring Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as the main voice actors. After a lengthy search and screen tests in London, Croft and Manheim have been chosen to take on those same roles. Milo Manheim, known for his roles in ‘Journey to Bethlehem’ and ‘School Spirits,’ comes from a family of performers – his mother is actress Camryn Manheim. Meanwhile, Isabel Croft started her acting career in Australia, appearing in shows like ‘Home and Away’ and ‘The Osiris Child,’ before working on projects in the United States.
Fans online are overwhelmingly excited about the casting choices. One person praised the picks as ‘perfect,’ highlighting Teagan’s beautiful, otherworldly look for Rapunzel and Milo’s intense portrayal of his character. The movie doesn’t have a set release date yet. While Scarlett Johansson was once thought to be playing Mother Gothel, the casting for that part hasn’t been officially revealed.
