MrBeast reveals he tried to join FaZe Clan for years and kept getting rejected

Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has shared that he repeatedly applied to join the gaming organization FaZe Clan over several years, but was turned down each time.

By the end of 2025, FaZe Clan, a hugely popular group in the streaming world, experienced a major shake-up. Several key members, including JasonTheWeen, Lacy, StableRonaldo, YourRage, Kaysan, and Silky, left the organization.

FaZe described the situation as “heartbreaking” and expressed well wishes to the players and staff who are leaving, as the organization shifts its focus to competitive esports.

Despite never being a member of the original or current FaZe Clan, MrBeast, the most-subscribed YouTuber, has said he attempted to join the organization several times but was unsuccessful.

MrBeast says FaZe kept rejecting him

MrBeast recently discussed rumors about almost joining FaZe Clan in an interview with JasonTheWeen, explaining he had seriously considered and put a lot of effort into the possibility.

You’ve really opened up a complicated situation. I not only wanted to be part of FaZe Clan, but they turned me down several times when I was just starting out.

MrBeast shared that he repeatedly tried to join the gaming organization FaZe Clan when he was younger, but they never accepted him.

Donaldson mentioned a clip from 10 years ago, called “Stuttertage,” featuring FaZe Adapt struggling to speak while showing off gameplay highlights.

I posted videos on my main MrBeast channel, which has 450 million subscribers. One featured FaZe Adapt’s stutter, another discussed all the members of FaZe Clan, and I also filmed a recruitment video – though that one’s unlisted. I’ve actually been trying to join FaZe Clan for years, he explained.

According to MrBeast, despite all his best efforts, the org just wouldn’t let him in.

Even though he didn’t become part of FaZe Clan, Donaldson has created a hugely successful brand, becoming the most-subscribed individual on YouTube and expanding into ventures like an Amazon game show and his own chocolate company, among other things.

Wow, with FaZe shutting down, it really makes you wonder what things would be like now if they’d just let him join back then. It’s wild to think about how different the internet could be!
