With Stranger Things finished, the show’s young stars are moving on to new projects. Here’s a look at what they’re up to next…
When Stranger Things first came out on Netflix in 2016, Winona Ryder was the most famous actor in the show. David Harbour was a working actor who had appeared in many roles, and the young cast members were relatively unknown at the time.
The actors from Stranger Things – including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, and Joe Keery – have become very well-known, now appearing in major movies and television series.
Now that the young stars of Stranger Things have grown up and moved on from Hawkins and the terrifying Upside Down, here’s an update on what they’re up to.
Millie Bobby Brown

Stranger Things character: Eleven
Next project: Enola Holmes 3
In addition to her role on Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown also acted in two Godzilla films. She continued her work with Netflix, appearing in Damsel, The Electric State, and the Enola Holmes movies.
The third Enola Holmes movie is currently being finished and is expected to be released on the streaming service later this year.
Finn Wolfhard

Stranger Things character: Mike
Next project: Crash Land
During his time on Stranger Things, Finn Wolfhard also appeared in several horror films, including Ghostbusters: Afterlife as Trevor Spengler and as Richie Tozer in the It movies.
Finn Wolfhard is shifting away from typical genre films and is currently filming ‘Crash Land,’ a movie about growing up in a small town.
Gaten Matarazzo

Stranger Things character: Dustin
Next project: The Untitled BriTANick Pizza Movie
So, you might know me as Dustin from Stranger Things, but I actually do a ton of voice acting too! I’ve gotten to work on some really cool projects like The Angry Birds Movie 2, a bunch of Lego Star Wars stuff, and even a new take on Animal Farm. It’s a fun side hustle, and I love bringing different characters to life!
He’s also starring in “The Untitled BriTANick Pizza Movie” with Sarah Sherman and Lulu Wilson. The film follows college students on a wild adventure to get their pizza back.
Noah Schnapp

Stranger Things character: Will

Noah Schnapp is known for voicing Charlie Brown in the Peanuts movie and game. When he wasn’t filming Stranger Things, he appeared as Tommy in Adam Sandler’s Hubie Halloween. He doesn’t have any new projects announced at this time.
Caleb McLaughlin

Stranger Things character: Lucas
Next project: GOAT
Alongside his role as Lucas in Stranger Things, Caleb McLaughlin also appeared in films like High Flying Bird, Concrete Cowboy, and The Book of Clarence.
His upcoming film is an animated sports comedy called GOAT, featuring a little animal with huge dreams of becoming a star in a game called ‘roarball’.
Sadie Sink

Stranger Things character: Max
Next project: Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Sadie Sink has already built a remarkable film career, appearing in movies like the Fear Street trilogy, Dear Zoe, and A Sacrifice. She’s also received praise for her performance in The Whale.
She’s expected to become a major star in 2026, largely due to a still-secret part in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. There’s speculation she’ll play a villain, and this role could lead to further appearances in future Marvel films.
Charlie Heaton

Stranger Things character: Jonathan
Next project: Industry
While taking breaks from filming Stranger Things, Charlie Heaton appeared in the superhero film The New Mutants, which faced difficulties, and also in the highly praised film The Souvenir: Part II.
Since finishing the Netflix series, Heaton has taken on a role in the HBO show Industry, appearing as Jim Dycker in its fourth season. He’s also completed work on the romantic drama Twice Over.
Natalia Dyer

Stranger Things character: Nancy
Next project: N/A
While filming Stranger Things, Natalia Dyer also acted in several other films and TV shows. Some of her more prominent roles include her part in the series Based on a True Story and the movie Velvet Buzzsaw, a satirical take on the art world. As of now, she doesn’t have any new projects announced.
Joe Keery

Stranger Things character: Steve
Next project: Cold Storage
Jo Keery is known for his role as ‘Gator Tillman’ in Season 5 of Fargo, and he’s also appeared in the films Spree and Free Guy.
You can next see him in the horror movie Cold Storage, starring alongside Liam Neeson and Georgina Campbell. Additionally, Keery performs as the lead singer for the band Post Animal.
Maya Hawke

Stranger Things character: Robin
Next project: The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping
Maya Hawke has appeared in several popular projects, including Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), the horror-comedy Do Revenge (2022), and Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City (2023). She also lent her voice to the character ‘Anxiety’ in Inside Out 2.
The year 2026 promises to be significant for the actress, as she’ll be playing Wiress in the latest Hunger Games film and starring in the independent movies Wishful Thinking and One Night Only.
