Good news for fans of the HBO Max series Heated Rivalry! Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, the stars of the show, will be working together again much sooner than 2027. According to Variety, they’ll be narrating Ember and Ice, a steamy romance for the audio platform Quinn. This time, instead of playing hockey rivals as they did in Heated Rivalry, Williams and Storrie will voice fae princes from opposing kingdoms in this three-part audio drama.
The new book, Ember and Ice, follows Finn, the crown prince of Lunare, and Dane, a rebellious prince from the Solari kingdom. Forced to spend time together, their historic rivalry unexpectedly sparks a dangerous attraction. Fans of enemies-to-lovers stories, forbidden romance, and gay erotica will find plenty to enjoy, along with themes of warring kingdoms and characters thrown together. In a preview, authors Storrie and Williams playfully reference their previous work, Heated Rivalry, with Williams jokingly appearing in hockey gear before being reminded they’re recording a steamy fantasy romance for Quinn.
Caroline Spiegel, founder and CEO of Quinn, told Variety they were thrilled to work on the show. She was particularly impressed by how well it resonated with viewers and became a part of the cultural conversation. Heated Rivalry unexpectedly became the most-watched original series on Crave in Canada and topped the charts on HBO Max in late 2025. While a show about competitive hockey gaining popularity isn’t unusual, the central queer romance made Heated Rivalry’s success a particularly welcome and surprising hit.
‘Heated Rivalry’ Fans Can’t Get Enough of Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie
The popular hockey romance series, Heated Rivalry, starring Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, has quickly gained a large following, with actors Williams and Storrie each gaining over a million Instagram followers since the show’s release. Fans are eagerly awaiting a second season, but production hasn’t started yet, leading to a lot of anticipation. Luckily, the new series Ember and Ice offers a similar storyline to tide fans over. The first episode preview of Ember and Ice has already been viewed over 35,000 times, demonstrating the huge demand for more content like Heated Rivalry – six episodes just aren’t enough!

The pairing of Williams and Storrie is interesting, especially since many actors avoid being known for one type of role. They’ve chosen to revisit the popular, passionate romance that made Heated Rivalry so well-known, which is a savvy way to build excitement for Season 2. Unlike some of Quinn’s other audio dramas that involve the listener directly, Ember and Ice will stay focused on the relationship between Finn and Dane. Given the strong imagery already established in Heated Rivalry, fans will easily be able to imagine their scenes. The first two episodes of this new story are available starting December 30th, with subscription plans beginning at $4.99 per month for an annual commitment or $7.99 monthly. And for those eager fans who can’t wait, Quinn offers plenty of other engaging, steamy stories to enjoy in the meantime.
