Marvel Studios Eyeing Jordan Peele to Direct 1 Upcoming MCU Movie (Report)

A recent report suggests that Jordan Peele, the Academy Award-winning director, might be teaming up with Marvel Studios. As Marvel wraps up its current ‘Multiverse Saga’ in late 2025, they’re actively searching for talented filmmakers to help shape the future of the MCU with Phase 7 and beyond, and Peele could be a key part of that new direction.

I’m hearing a really interesting rumor! Apparently, Marvel is considering Jordan Peele to direct one of their upcoming movies. The only downside is that no one seems to know which movie it would be. Insider Daniel Richtman shared the news, but didn’t have any details about the project.

The rumor started when industry insider Jeff Sneider mentioned on the podcast The Hot Mic that Jordan Peele had met with Marvel Studios about directing a film. Sources suggested he was considered for the upcoming X-Men reboot before Jake Schreier was confirmed as the director of Thunderbolts.

Jordan Peele first became well-known for his comedy work with Keegan-Michael Key, but he later gained fame as a horror director and writer. He won an Academy Award for the original screenplay of his 2018 film, Get Out, and received a total of four Oscar nominations for Get Out and his 2019 film, BlacKkKlansman.

Marvel Studios is currently planning its Phase 6 movies, which will wrap up the Multiverse Saga. The saga is expected to end with the release of Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027, after which the Marvel Cinematic Universe will begin Phase 7 in 2028.

What Movie Will Jordan Peele Direct in the MCU?

Now that Jake Schreier is directing the new X-Men movie for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, everyone’s wondering what project Marvel will give to Jordan Peele. Given his talent for horror and the success he’s had over the past ten years, Peele likely has several interesting possibilities to choose from.

A lot of fans think Jordan Peele would be a great director for the upcoming Marvel movie Blade. While the movie’s release has been delayed, it’s still being made, and Peele’s success with horror films featuring Black leads makes him a strong candidate to direct Blade’s first standalone story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the movie has faced numerous development issues since it was first announced in 2019, so it’s hard to say when it might actually come out.

Jordan Peele could also potentially direct the planned ‘Midnight Sons’ movie, though Marvel hasn’t officially announced it’s happening. The film has gone through several script rewrites and was once thought to be canceled, but recent reports from October 2025 suggest it’s back in development. If made, it’s expected to feature Mahershala Ali as Blade and Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight, and Peele would be a great choice to introduce this team of darker heroes to audiences.

There’s been talk that Marvel is planning to introduce Ghost Rider into their cinematic universe. Some reports suggest he might appear in a ‘Midnight Sons’ film, but he could also get his own movie. Given Ghost Rider’s darker, supernatural themes, director Jordan Peele would be a great fit to reimagine the character – whether it’s Johnny Blaze, Robbie Reyes, or another version – and launch a new series of stories.

Marvel doesn’t have another movie coming out for over seven months, and they’ve only announced three future releases. This gives Jordan Peele and Marvel plenty of time to develop his project. Once they have a clearer idea of what he wants to create, fans will be excited to learn what new character or team he’ll introduce to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
