Jack Reacher fans eagerly anticipate a new season each winter, and usually get their fix thanks to the Prime Video series. However, Season 4 is now expected to arrive as late as Summer 2026. In the meantime, viewers are revisiting the previous three seasons, which have recently climbed back into the global Top 10 most-watched shows.
Since it premiered in 2022, the show has become a major success for Prime Video. The first season, released on February 4th, immediately offered all eight episodes, giving viewers a Jack Reacher more faithful to the books than the portrayal seen in the movies starring Tom Cruise almost ten years prior. It was well-received by both critics (92% approval) and audiences (91%), and quickly attracted a large number of viewers.
The show’s second season premiered in December 2023 and quickly broke viewership records, becoming Prime Video’s most popular show of the year. While the second season didn’t resonate with audiences quite as strongly as the first, critics loved it, giving it a near-perfect 98% rating and calling it an improvement. The third season, released in February 2025, continued this success, leaving high expectations for the upcoming fourth season.
Although some fans were hoping for Season 4 to appear around February, the filming timeline suggested a later release in 2026 was more probable. While there’s no confirmed release date yet, fans seem content to rewatch the previous three seasons of Reacher in the meantime.
‘Reacher’ Season 4 Can Continue the Show’s Success

Prime Video
Season 4 of Reacher will continue the show’s winning formula by adapting another one of Lee Child’s novels. This season’s storyline is based on Gone Tomorrow, which the book description introduces with the following premise:
It’s often possible to identify potential suicide bombers by observing their behavior – there are twelve key indicators that law enforcement professionals are trained to recognize. In New York City, on a subway train at two a.m., Jack Reacher carefully observes the other passengers. He quickly determines that four seem normal, but one raises concerns. As the train approaches Grand Central Station, Reacher faces a critical decision: should he intervene, potentially saving lives, or is he mistaken? Acting could be dangerous, and a wrong move could have devastating consequences, even costing lives – including his own.
Alan Ritchson says the upcoming season will have some of the most intense fight scenes the show has ever done. He’s playfully worried fans who think they’ve already seen enough action might be surprised – in a good way!
We’ve included more fight scenes than ever before this season. We were concerned audiences might get tired of them, so we made sure they weren’t just action for action’s sake. I’ve noticed with shows like Game of Thrones, it’s easy to tune out until the fight scenes begin, but my wife actually wants to skip over them! We focused on making sure viewers are connected to the characters and understand why they’re fighting. We really believe that will make the record number of fights we have this season enjoyable and meaningful.
