‘I’ve Been Electrified.’ Jennifer Lawrence Knows She Looks Crazy While Drunk On The Red Carpet

Jennifer Lawrence, the Academy Award winner, is well-known for being naturally funny and spontaneous whenever she speaks, whether it’s on a talk show or accepting an award. Many fans appreciate her honesty and willingness to talk about anything – even embarrassing moments, like getting sick after being on the show Hot Ones, or her playful antics with Robert Pattinson.

Well, now she’s also hilariously opened up about hitting the red carpet while drunk.

What Did Jennifer Lawrence Say About Being Drunk On The Red Carpet?

I’ve never experienced the whirlwind of press events where people might have a drink during the day and then continue with more public appearances while still feeling its effects. But that’s apparently happened to Jennifer Lawrence, who has been a well-known and highly praised actress ever since her memorable performance in the 2010 film Winter’s Bone.

With parts since then in films like X-Men: First Class, The Hunger Games franchise (which she’ll be returning to alongside Josh Hutcherson in the future), American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, No Hard Feelings, and many more, you better believe that she talks to the press A LOT. In fact, it was during an interview on Ellen back in the day (which resurfaced recently on Instagram), that she was asked about her rather…shocked appearance on the red carpet for the 2018 film, Red Sparrow. It turns out that incident came after a long day of doing press with some boozy woozy in her system, and it led to her posing like this:

Whooooooa, Nelly! After lots of laughter, Lawrence then explained the situation:

It was a really rough night. I was on Andy Cohen’s show and had a lot of wine. Then I went to Stephen Colbert’s show, trying to sober up with coffee, and realized I’d had too much to drink with the Housewives – something I’d always wanted to say! After that, I had to go to a premiere, and I was still quite drunk. I tried to appear sober on the red carpet, but I ended up looking completely wired and out of it. It was mortifying!

So, it seems like nothing is off-limits when it comes to blaming things on reality TV stars! The actress, known for her wild performance in the upcoming 2025 film Die My Love, still looks great in the photo, but she’s right to say she looks a bit…unsettled. One wonders if she hadn’t tried to get sober, would she have looked even more disheveled?

I admire that the mother of two realized she’d had too much to drink and tried to sober up, but I kind of wish she’d just let loose and had fun. I imagine a completely uninhibited Jennifer Lawrence would be even funnier, and who wouldn’t enjoy that?
