Cillian Murphy is returning to the role in the upcoming Netflix movie, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, and a new teaser gives us a glimpse of his return. The trailer shows Tommy leaving the isolated place where he’s been hiding and re-entering society. A voiceover asks, “What ever happened to the infamous gangster Tommy Shelby?” followed by scenes of car crashes, gunfights, and a hint of hidden Nazis. Tommy insists he’s changed, but it’s clear that Birmingham still needs him – and his iconic newsboy cap – to restore peace.

In 1940, amidst World War II, Shelby is called back to Birmingham by the Peaky Blinders. According to series creator Steven Knight, this new season will be a dramatic and intense period for the Peaky Blinders, showing them fully engaged in the war effort. The film, The Immortal Man, will first be shown in select cinemas on March 6th, and then become available on Netflix starting March 20th.
