Andrei Arlovski, a former UFC heavyweight champion, will fight a security guard from Jack Doherty’s team. This follows a heated incident that happened backstage at the Jake Paul versus Anthony Joshua boxing match and was captured on video.
Videos shared online depict Arlovski throwing punches and kicks in an area close to where Doherty and his companions were standing. Doherty stated that Arlovski unexpectedly attempted to kick him as he walked by.
Doherty posted on X that a man suddenly tried to kick him while he was walking, and that he hadn’t provoked any reaction. He also expressed frustration that he was being portrayed as the one at fault.
Arlovski disagreed with how the incident was described. He stated that he and his family had received threats, and he accused Doherty of prioritizing getting footage over safety. Arlovski also said he was unexpectedly attacked during the fight.
I was walking along when he suddenly tried to kick me, seemingly out of nowhere. It was completely unprovoked, and even though I didn’t do anything to him, I’m sure everyone will assume I’m the one who caused the problem.

Andrei Arlovski accepts Jack Doherty’s fight offer involving his bodyguards
Things got worse on December 23rd when Doherty publicly challenged his opponents. He suggested a fight where he’d have two bodyguards protecting him, and even admitted he would hide behind them.

The conversation soon turned into a direct proposal. Doherty mentioned that one of his security guards expressed interest in fighting Arlovski in an official match, and guaranteed it would be the guard’s most lucrative fight to date.
Doherty urged everyone to proceed correctly, promising significant compensation for all participants and making it clear he intended to remain actively involved in the event’s organization.

MMA Fighting reports that Andrei Arlovski’s manager, Abe Kawa from First Round Management, has confirmed they agree to the plans.
Kawa confirmed they’ve agreed to the fight, stating Arlovski is fully on board. They’re currently working to get in touch with Doherty to make it official.
The timing is interesting because Arlovski is already scheduled to fight Ben Rothwell for the BKFC heavyweight title at KnuckleMania 6 in February, and this new opportunity might make it difficult to arrange both fights.
Beyond his boxing career, Doherty is also facing legal issues. He’s been charged with resisting arrest and possessing drugs in Florida, reportedly after refusing to move from a road while he was filming.
If found guilty on all charges and receives the harshest possible sentences, Doherty could be imprisoned for as long as seven years.
The online argument seems to be escalating towards a physical confrontation, unless legal issues or scheduling conflicts intervene.
