So, I’m trying something kinda crazy in Silksong – I’m attempting a playthrough where I only use words to defeat enemies instead of swords or spells. It’s way harder than it sounds, but it’s a fun challenge!
The first game was challenging, but fans felt the upcoming Silksong was even harder, to the point where many wished for an easier experience. Despite this high difficulty, players are still finding creative and unusual ways to try and complete the game.
Players have been finding incredibly creative ways to complete the game – some finish without taking any damage, others avoid most fights altogether, and one person even used a saxophone as a controller! Now, another player is attempting to beat all the bosses using only voice commands.
Silksong player attempts a taunt-only run
YouTuber ‘Bloblumord The 3rd’ is playing through Silksong with a unique challenge: they can only defeat enemies by using Hornet’s taunt attack. Damage from the environment or other characters is still allowed. They trigger the taunt by pressing ‘V’ on a keyboard or clicking the right stick on a controller, which makes the Knight yell “garama” – seemingly a playful insult in the game’s world.
I recently learned something really cool! Apparently, doing this move right next to an enemy actually does a little bit of damage. Bloblumord says it’s about six damage when you’re using the basic Hunter’s Crest, which is awesome to know!
As a result, battles take significantly longer because players struggle to take advantage of enemy weaknesses. For instance, defeating Trobbio took around an hour.
In their most recent video from December 17th, the group was working through the High Halls in Act 2, meaning they’re advancing well in the game. They did need to use some computer-controlled characters to help with certain parts, though, because their current attack seems ineffective against enemies that are flying.
This isn’t the first time the player has tried this technique. They previously posted a video of themselves defeating the final boss, Lost Lace, using the same method, and now they’re attempting to complete the entire game this way.
While we all eagerly await the free ‘Sea of Sorrow’ DLC for Silksong (expected in 2026), consider checking out Bloblumord The 3rd’s content and showing your support!
