Players of Pokémon GO are once again asking for the game to bring back free Holiday Incubators. A recent, heartwarming post on Reddit reminded many players how much they enjoyed this bonus in the past, sparking the renewed requests.

A recent discussion on the Pokémon Go subreddit, r/pokemongo, brought up fond memories of free daily incubators that were given out for spinning PokeStops during past holiday events. Players playfully commemorated the discontinued feature with a mock tombstone, jokingly marking its lifespan from December 25, 2016, to December 31, 2021.

For a while, Pokémon GO used to offer a special bonus during winter events. Trainers could get one free egg incubator each day just by spinning a PokéStop. This allowed players to hatch more eggs – and find rare Pokémon like shinies and those only available in certain regions – without having to spend their in-game currency.

Many Pokémon GO events now offer special Pokémon only available by hatching eggs, and players are disappointed that the free Holiday Incubators are no longer available.

As a longtime Pokémon GO player, I was a little bummed when Niantic stopped giving us those daily free items after the 2021 holidays. They moved those rewards away from just spinning PokéStops and now focus more on things you get with the GO Pass or by buying premium items like incubators. Honestly, it’s not the same – especially when they bring back decorated PokéStops and Pokémon in costumes every year, it really makes me miss those simple daily bonuses!

The Pokémon GO Winter Holiday event is now live, offering players several perks! These include faster egg hatching, double experience points for catching Pokémon, special challenges with festive rewards, and a Winter Weekend where you can earn unlimited points without needing a GO Pass.

And in 7km eggs, players can hatch exclusive costumed forms of Cubchoo and Pichu.

Even though the latest updates involve hatching eggs, players are reporting that the special holiday incubators aren’t available at PokeStops again this year.

People responding to the recent nostalgic post shared both happy memories and what they’d like to see happen now, with many asking Niantic to bring back free holiday incubators. However, with the current Winter Holiday events running until December 29, 2025, followed by Winter Weekend bonuses, it’s unlikely we’ll receive free incubators this year.
