This collection includes the majority of the films featuring Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau. The third movie, Return of the Pink Panther, will likely be available on 4K Blu-ray sometime in 2026.
As a huge Pink Panther fan, I was so excited to hear about these new releases! They’ve completely remastered all the movies, going back to the original film to create stunning 4K versions. And it’s not just about the picture quality – they’ve included tons of bonus content! A lot of the special features are from the older DVD releases, so they’re not in HD, but honestly, it’s amazing to see all the behind-the-scenes stuff and hear the filmmakers talk about how these movies have influenced pop culture for so many years. It’s a really deep dive for anyone who loves the Pink Panther as much as I do.
Although Peter Sellers died in 1980, the Pink Panther series lived on through various sequels and reboots. Many of these films, including the 1982 movie Trail of the Pink Panther (which was famously made from unused footage and disliked by fans), are now available on DVD and Blu-ray for collectors.
The Pink Panther series saw several attempts to revive it after its initial run. In 1983, Ted Wass played a clumsy American detective named Clifton Sleigh, and in 1993, Roberto Benigni took on the role of Inspector Clouseau’s son. Both of these films were unsuccessful. The series was rebooted again in 2006 with Steve Martin as Clouseau, and he starred in one more film in 2009. These Steve Martin films are readily available on Blu-ray.
