Be warned, major spoilers are ahead for season 5 of Emily in Paris! The creator, Darren Star, and actress Lily Collins have hinted at what might happen in season 6, including a possible change of scenery and what the future holds for Lucas Bravo’s character. Season 5 saw Emily travel to Rome, where she explored a new romance and career, with some visits back to France and appearances from characters we already know and love.
The fifth season ended with a hint of where the show might go next: Greece. In the final scene, Emily receives a postcard from Gabriel asking her to join him there. This comes after Gabriel successfully impresses billionaire Thomas Heatherton and secures a better position, which sets the stage for the next chapter of the story.
In an interview with Deadline, actor Lucas Bravo confirmed he’ll be back as Gabriel in season 6 of Emily in Paris. He hinted that his character will likely remain a significant part of Emily’s story after what happened in season 5. The show’s creator also mentioned that Gabriel and Emily reconnecting will be a key element of the upcoming season’s storyline.
It looks like they had a good reconnection this season. It suggests they’ll continue to be a part of each other’s lives going forward.
Star shared his ideas for season 6 of Emily in Paris, which will be set in Greece. He’s hoping Emily will accept Gabriel’s invitation, and if she does, Camille (Camille Razat) could play a significant role in the story.
Collins recently told Deadline that she’s hoping the next season will be filmed in Greece, and hinted that she’ll be traveling there with Mindy (played by Ashley Park). She also discussed the potential future of Emily and Gabriel’s relationship, now that Emily has decided she doesn’t want to pursue romance with him after the events of season 5.
I’m really hoping we continue with the show, and if we do, I’d love to plan Mindy’s bachelorette party in Greece. That would be incredible! I’m definitely rooting for Greece as the location, and I’d be planning it with Mindy.
What’s really compelling this season is Emily’s newfound self-assurance. She’s doing well and is more focused on her work, particularly on how Princess Jane is performing. She’s handled the situations with Gabriel and Marcello maturely, and it’s interesting to see Gabriel is the one who’s uncertain now. I appreciate that shift. While it was nice of Gabriel to come to Rome without Emily knowing, she’s perfectly okay with it. She’s currently content, and Gabriel is still clearly thinking about her, which leaves their future uncertain. Ultimately, we end Season Five with Emily feeling secure and satisfied in her romantic life.
Season 5 of Emily in Paris took a fresh approach by shifting much of the action to Rome, rather than staying exclusively in Paris. This change expanded the show’s storylines, particularly Emily’s relationship with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), and allowed Emily to discover new aspects of her personality, paving the way for more diverse stories in the future.
Now that Greece is likely to be featured in season 6 of Emily in Paris (if the show is renewed), Gabriel from the Bravo series will probably have a bigger part to play. The show could revisit his relationship with Emily, potentially exploring it from a fresh perspective, though the exact details are still unknown.
