Video has surfaced of Nick Reiner’s arrest after his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and producer Michele Singer Reiner, passed away.
Police found a couple dead in their Brentwood home on Sunday, December 14th. Their 32-year-old son, Nick, was arrested and later charged with both of their murders by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner concluded that the person died from multiple stab wounds and ruled the death a homicide.
Nick Reiner, son of director Rob Reiner and co-creator of the 2015 film Being Charlie, was in court this week but didn’t make a deal with prosecutors. He’s being held in jail without bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on January 7, 2026.

Cameras at a gas station across the street recorded Nick entering a shop around 9pm on Sunday. He bought a sports drink and then left.
Alexis Hernandez, a store employee that night, said she initially believed the person was just a typical shopper.
As Nick was walking across the street, several police cars arrived. He immediately raised his hands and was arrested.
If found guilty, he could be sentenced to life in prison with no chance of release, or potentially face the death penalty. Prosecutors haven’t decided yet if they will ask for the death penalty.
Rob Reiner has three other children: Jake, age 34, Romy, age 27, and Tracy, 61, who he adopted while married to director Penny Marshall.
Romy and Jake Reiner have shared a statement following the tragic deaths of their parents, Rob and Michele. They expressed that no words can capture the immense pain they are feeling. The loss of their parents is described as horrific and devastating.
