New Avengers: Doomsday Title & Logo Overseas Causes Fan Backlash

With the end of 2025 nearing and the upcoming release of Avengers: Doomsday next year, Marvel Studios has begun promoting the film. Early previews will reportedly play before showings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Interestingly, the movie will be known as Vingadores: Doutor Destino (or Avengers: Doctor Doom) in Brazil. Fans online have reacted to this different title, and many are unhappy with the change.

Avengers: Doomsday has a different title in Brazil and fans despise it

Someone on X (formerly Twitter) posted a picture of the Brazilian title and logo for the new Avengers movie. It’s called “Vingadores: Doutor Destino,” which translates to “Avengers: Doctor Doom.” This is different from the title used in most other places, which is “Avengers: Doomsday.”

Fans didn’t seem pleased with this potential title. One commenter even wrote in Portuguese that it was “the worst title I’ve ever seen.” Another fan responded with a mock-up of an Avengers title, “Avengers: Destino Final,” saying it was a much stronger option.

I’ve been seeing some fan translations from Spanish calling the movie “Avengers: Judgement Day,” and honestly, I kind of love it! One person pointed out it’s a really strong title. Another fan explained it’s not a bad title at all, just more direct and less flashy. They compared it to if “Avengers: Infinity War” had been called something simpler like “Avengers: Infinity Stones” or “Infinity Gauntlet.” It makes sense – sometimes a more straightforward title works just as well!

The new Avengers movie, Doomsday, is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, and excitement is building. Fans will soon get a sneak peek, as a short trailer for the film will be shown before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Interestingly, early footage suggests Chris Evans will be returning for Avengers: Doomsday.
