Why is Honkai Star Rail version 3.8 extended?

Honkai Star Rail’s update 3.8 will be longer than its typical updates. Here’s the reason.

Okay, so Honkai Star Rail’s version 3.8 is out now, and HoYoverse is keeping it around for longer than usual! They’ve actually extended it, which means we’re going to have to wait a bit longer for version 4.0 to drop. Basically, they’re giving us more time with 3.8 before moving on, and that’s why 4.0 is delayed.

Honkai Star Rail 3.8’s extended duration

First, the important stuff: compensation.

HoYoverse is giving all players 1,000 Stellar Jade and 10 Fuel as an apology for the issues and inconvenience caused by the recent extension.

The team explained the delay briefly, saying they’re still developing content for Version 4.0. To ensure players have a better experience when the next area, ‘Planarcadia,’ becomes available, they’ve decided to extend the current Version 3.8. This announcement was made in a blog post.

To ease concerns about the delay, they showed us a preview of what’s coming next.

This gallery reveals the significant impact Elation has on Planarcadia, and includes a brief hint about the story behind it.

Facing a major crisis, the universe joined forces again, and attention is now focused on other powerful beings involved. Previously, the Express mysteriously appeared in and left ‘Planarcadia.’ While there, Aha offered those chasing Elation a unique deal: participate in THEIR game and briefly become an ‘Aeon’ themselves.

What happens to events and banners in 3.8?

Honkai Star Rail version 3.8 will be released in three phases. First, you’ll have a chance to get The Dahlia and Firefly. Then, Fugue and Lingsha will be featured. Each of these phases will last for three weeks. Finally, the last two weeks of the update will spotlight Aglaea and Sunday, bringing version 3.8 to a close.

As mentioned in this post, several in-game events will continue running even after the update’s extended period. This includes events for all players, daily login rewards, and other similar promotions.

This update will feature three special events with double rewards: Planar Fissure, Realm of the Strange, and Garden of Plenty. Be sure to check them out!

The reset date for Currency Wars: Zero Sum Game is being changed. However, points earned in Currency Wars, Simulated Universe, and Divergent Universe will still be counted as normal.
