The latest Xbox update in December improves how you use Xbox outside of your console. The Xbox mobile app now has new features for the store, and the Xbox Wireless Headset can now use Bluetooth LE Audio. This will give better battery life and sound quality when connected to some Windows 11 devices.
Microsoft is making it even simpler to buy games on your phone. After adding in-app purchases and Game Pass subscriptions in April, the Xbox app now features a dedicated store tab for easier browsing. This update also brings your Wishlist to the app and lets you search for downloadable content directly within it. The new features are available now on both iOS and Android.
Microsoft is releasing a new update for the Xbox Wireless Headset. This update adds support for Bluetooth LE Audio, a feature in Windows 11 designed to improve both battery life and sound quality. With this update, you can expect lower delays, longer-lasting battery, and clearer voice chat thanks to wider stereo sound.
Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11 that allows you to share your game sound with multiple Bluetooth devices, like headphones or speakers. Right now, this feature is only available to people enrolled in the Windows Insider Program who have certain Windows 11 PCs.
As a big fan of my Xbox Wireless Headset, I recently learned how to keep it updated! You just need the Xbox Accessories app – it works on your Xbox console or any computer running Windows 11. Also, if you want to use the really cool new Bluetooth LE Audio feature, it only works when you connect the headset to a Windows 11 device that supports it.
Microsoft is adding new games to several of its software collections. The Handheld Compatibility Program, which helps users find games that work well on handheld devices like the ROG Ally and Ally X, now includes Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Fortnite. Xbox Cloud Gaming’s ‘stream your own game’ feature has also been updated with a bunch of new titles, such as Brawlhalla and Resident Evil 3.
Game Pass is adding four retro titles – Codename: Iceman, Plaque Attack, Police Quest 2, and Space Shuttle – to its Retro Classics collection. This collection already has over 50 games, and Xbox intends to expand it to more than 100 in the future. Plus, several games are gaining support for mouse & keyboard or touch controls. You can find a complete list of games with new control options on the Xbox blog.
