Zack Snyder recently started using Instagram and has been sharing photos from behind the scenes of his older films. He often posts pictures he took himself while filming his DC superhero movies, and recently shared a photo of Henry Cavill as Superman from the set of the 2013 film, Man of Steel. He simply captioned the image, “henrycavill iconic.”
The black and white image shows Henry Cavill as Superman, wearing his costume from the movie Man of Steel and appearing to be in the middle of a fight. Fans quickly reacted to the photo, interpreting the hope symbol on Superman’s chest as a message from director Zack Snyder suggesting the Snyderverse might return. One fan posted, “That symbol still means hope. Always did. #restorethesnyderverse,” and another wrote, “I have a feeling Zack was already planning something – I’m hopeful.”
Several fans commented on the post, with one saying, “Zack, that was a bit much, but we love it!” Others pleaded, “Please tell us the Snyderverse will return!” Although it doesn’t seem likely, especially with the positive reception to James Gunn’s new Superman starring David Corenswet, the recent deal between Netflix and Warner Bros. has given fans fresh optimism.
